The Cottages of Sequim is a gem found right in the heart of Sequim. We are blocks away from shopping, from local shops to Costco, you can find many things to do nearby. The Cottages of Sequim is just minutes from Port Angeles, where you can find waterfront activities, Olympic Medical Center, and more!
Memory Care
The Cottages of Sequim offers a full spectrum of care from medication management to end of life care. Each resident is assessed by a caring professional, who specializes in care for older adults and dementia; they will then personalize a care plan for each resident’s individual needs using their background, routine, and their primary care physician’s recommendations. We also offer partnerships with a primary care physician who visits the community, podiatry, mental health professionals, and hospice and palliative care services to offer a whole approach to each resident’s care.
About Our Staff
At the Cottages of Sequim we are known for our two beautiful courtyards, where our residents are welcome to go for walks, garden, or simply enjoy the outdoors. With a familiar home like setting you can find our residents visiting with one another or using one of many activity spaces to exercise with our activity director, doing crafts, or reminiscing about their lives. Since Mom’s diagnosis with dementia, it has been our honor to care for her at her apartment in Bellevue. Unfortunately her needs have reached a point where 24/7 care, physical security and social support are essential. We are thrilled that we seem to have found an ideal memory care community for Mom. The Cottages is a cluster of four group homes, with up to 10 residents each, and 24 hour awake staff. The staff has deep professional experience with memory care, and is dedicated to knowing and serving the individualized, immediate needs of each resident.
Mom moved into The Cottages last Friday, July 24th, and so far has adjusted beautifully. She is smiling and laughing constantly, and eating and sleeping well. She seems to feel secure and is enjoying the availability of 24/7 social stimulation as desired.
Visitors are welcome. Mom may not recall names and relationship details, but she loves seeing familiar and loving faces. Mom has a private room with a bed and two guest chairs (one of which is kept in her closet). There is also space for visiting in the living room / dining room area, on an attached fenced patio, and outside the cottage, on an open patio with a table and chairs.
