About Our Community

The Cottages at University Place, a Unique Memory Care Community is in University Place, Washington. Our Memory Care was designed with a lot of research. We were designed for people living with Dementia. To give them a safe space to wander, be among their peers and participate in activities with others. We want to know their history, who they were prior to their diagnosis of Dementia, their likes, dislikes, and things that provide them comfort.  These are things that we will incorporate into their care plan and use for redirection techniques when needed.  To find out more about our Unique Memory Care, Please reach out to our Admissions Coordinator for a tour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Prior to Mom/Dad moving into our Community, we will conduct a financial review
to determine if the level of private resources are limited such that alternative payment plans or sources, including negotiated private rates and/or conversion
to a Medicaid reimbursement program, need to be considered. We will commit
to a financial plan that works for all parties and so that there are no future
surprises.

We tailor daily activities for the residents based upon their individual needs and abilities.

We have nursing staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a licensed nurse 40 hours per week and on call in case of emergency.

If mom is unable to travel to a doctor’s office, we have a physician who comes to the facility once a week.

The Cottage design and our round the clock staffing enable us to closelymonitor our residents at all times.. Each Cottage main door exits into a secured interior courtyard and our round the clock staff are alerted to a resident leaving the Cottage by the alarm systems on the exit doors.

Yes, all residents of our specialized dementia care communities must have a diagnosis of Alzheimers or dementia to live with us.

Testimonials

Hugh Birgenheier

My mom is in this facility and the staff has been wonderful to her. She has lived at the cottages for about three years. The facility is beautiful and I especially appreciate the fact that the residents can go outside and relax in the beautiful outdoor area. The food is very good and the portions are appropriate for each person. I especially appreciate the fact that snack are provided throughout the day. I would strongly recommend the cottages for your loved one.
