The Cottages at Edgewood

The Cottages at Edgewood, a Memory Care Community built and opened in Autumn 2015, offers three small, cozy cottages, each with a maximum of 20 residents. This design concept allows us to provide your loved one with the personal attention he or she deserves in a familiar, intimate, calm and safe environment.

Each Cottage opens and exits into an expansive but secure outside interior courtyard allowing residents the freedom to safely stroll, exercise and enjoy open spaces among landscaped walkways and surroundings. Additionally, each cottage is self-contained with its own kitchen, dining room, laundry, living room area with fireplace and private resident rooms. Residents create a sense of truly being at home by personalizing their bedrooms with familiar furnishings and cherished mementos.

About Our Community

The Cottages of Edgewood is a unique memory care community located in the heart of Edgewood, Washington. Backed by research, our memory care boasts a beautiful design to keep those with dementia safe while maintaining their independence and integrity. We work with your physician, among other medical professionals to ensure each residents care plan reflects who they are as an individual.

Care Available

The Cottages of Edgewood offers a full spectrum of care from medication management to end of life care. Each resident is assessed by the director of nursing, who specializes in care for older adults and dementia; they will then personalize a care plan for each resident’s individual needs using their background, routine, and their primary care doctor’s recommendations. We also offer partnerships with a primary care doctor who visits the community, podiatry, mental health professionals, and hospice and palliative care services to offer a whole approach to each resident’s care.

Testimonials

One Very Happy family 8/2015

Since Mom’s diagnosis with dementia in 2006, it has been our honor to care for her at her apartment in Bellevue. Unfortunately her needs have reached a point where 24/7 care, physical security and social support are essential. We are thrilled that we seem to have found an ideal memory care community for Mom. The Cottages is a cluster of four group homes, with up to 10 residents each, and 24 hour awake staff. The staff has deep professional experience with memory care, and is dedicated to knowing and serving the individualized, immediate needs of each resident.

Mom moved into The Cottages last Friday, July 24th, and so far has adjusted beautifully. She is smiling and laughing constantly, and eating and sleeping well. She seems to feel secure and is enjoying the availability of 24/7 social stimulation as desired.

Visitors are welcome. Mom may not recall names and relationship details, but she loves seeing familiar and loving faces. Mom has a private room with a bed and two guest chairs (one of which is kept in her closet). There is also space for visiting in the living room / dining room area, on an attached fenced patio, and outside the cottage, on an open patio with a table and chairs.
